The Humanitarian Trendsetter

Abubokor Hanip wants to build a University, students passing out of this university will be getting direct midlevel and senior level jobs.

Here’s a fact. Millions of people are jobless, but more than hundreds of thousands of jobs are still available in the IT market itself. You don’t need to be a college or university graduate to get yourself a good job. But these jobs require appropriate knowledge both academic and industrial, needs skill and experience and most importantly needs a network within the corporate environment. At present, in USA, there are around 60,000 vacant positions in the field of software testing only. Around 29,000 in database administration and thousands of jobs are available
in the field of cyber security. Apart from these, there are hundreds of thousands of jobs available in the sectors of medical technician, electrician, etc. There is no requirement of college graduation for these jobs. But one needs to have proper practical knowledge & expertise and professional work experience. Engr. Abubokor Hanip is the Founder and CEO of PeopleNTech Institute of
Information Technology (PIIT); PeopleNTech, LLC; Global Technology Solutions (GTS); VolumeCoder.com & SMART Illusion, with hundreds of employees in Bangladesh, India, Canada and the USA. In an exclusive interview with Colors magazine, Engr. Abubokor Hanip talks about his philosophy: ‘If a human being, along with earning his livelihood, can involve himself in helping others, then he can utilize a lot of his time in humanitarian activities’. Engr. Hanip, immediately after passing out from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), came to the USA in 1995. Like other new immigrants, he had to do lot of things for his survival in this great country. His first job was an 8-10 hour continuously standing job at a gift shop, with a wage of $5 per hour. He thought there was no other alternative but to go for higher studies, so he did his masters from NYIT and graduated with a GPA of approximately 4.00. He also successfully completed various certification courses in the IT field. Even after that he could not find any good job. Finally, he realized that there is no alternative to skills development. So he started to gain IT skills and eventually got his dream job in 2004 with FDIC. Immediately after getting his first job he started thinking about other non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) living in the USA and how he could help them in getting this kind of white color jobs in USA. He realized that it is very easy to get this type of jobs, and he wanted to share this idea with other NRBs. He had one of his friends who used to drive cabs even after having a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from USA. He had faith in Hanip and took training from the latter. Interestingly, his friend landed a QA job with a package higher than Hanip earned.
This made Hanip more confident and the news circulated among the neighborhood Bangladeshi community based in the USA and that of Canada, like wildfire. People from all walks of life started coming to him for undertaking the training course. He started giving training to others in the basement of his house in Virginia. And within a few months almost 300 people got their dream jobs and, with this achievement, PeopleNTech started its formal official journey in 2005. The Institute now has eight branches located in Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Brooklyn, Canada, India and in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Apart from FDIC, Hanip has also worked in IRS, IBM, Oracle and many other renowned organizations. Finally, he gave up his job and started fully concentrating in his own company. Further, while talking about the skill level of fresh graduates and experienced job holders, Hanip says that it’s the gap of industrial knowledge, skills, and experience that makes these two levels dissimilar from one another. He says that after graduating from a certain university majoring in Computer Science, a job applicant will seek an entry level job in any organization. But with a 4-month training from PeopleNTech, the same job applicant will be able to bridge the gap between entry level and senior level, and can be directly hired at a senior level, with the starting annual package of $80,000 minimum. The learned Engineer also said that on an average from an entry level to senior level it takes around almost seven years to reach such a lucrative position. But after obtaining the real-time project-oriented 4-month training from PeopleNTech, the same job applicant can easily seek a job claiming 6/7 years of practical experience he/she obtained.
More importantly, these people will turn out to be the CTO, COO & CEO of renowned companies in the long run. Citing some good number of examples about arranging a two-day-long-18 hours Boot Camp, Hanip says that the Boot Camp is the final round of the four-month duration of the courses. It has been designed as a tried and tested program that will provide the prospective job applicants with all the skills they need for a successful career. The Boot Camp will evaluate the individuals regarding the knowledge of the course materials – all of which will facilitate our valued student/- job applicants to work in the real field, says Hanip. Hanip is not only serving the graduates, his target group also includes non-resident Bangladeshis living in the USA and Canada who are working odd-jobs. His 4-months crash course helps them getting a decent job of their choice. He also has designed a training program both in USA and Bangladesh for the newly arrived
immigrants in the USA to get white color jobs within a short span of time. If someone takes the course from Bangladesh, right after arriving in the USA, the immigrants will be able to directly join IT professional jobs without getting into the informal trade. Another interesting course Hanip has been pleased to design particularly for the non-resident Bangladeshi housewives living in the USA and Canada is FIT (Female in Information Technology) where he teaches mothers free of cost to provide them with the knowledge of day-to-day computer usage including the use of Facebook, Internet, parental control in different gadgets, TV and Internet as well. Hanip mentions that PEOPLENTECH is rated as one of the best IT training centers for several important courses of the present day IT Job Market like software testing, database administration, project management professional etc. “Since its inception in 2004, we have trained some thousands of job seekers from different backgrounds and as of today a total number of almost 4000 candidates got their desired jobs in the IT corporate world in the USA, Canada and France with a yearly salary ranging from $80,000 to $200,000. We are imparting high-quality training on QA, DBA and PMP while engaging renowned expert trainers. And as such, enrollment of students in PeopleNTech Institute is increasing day by day and students are coming from different states of the USA and from different countries of the world”, says Hanip. He did not limit his expertise only by founding PeopleNTech which is a training, consulting and recruiting company; the talented Engineer also has founded another Software Animation company named “Smart Illusion”. Talking about his Bangladesh Branch, this aspiring person told the interviewer that he has set up a branch of PeopleNTech in Dhaka, Bangladesh with a vision of preparing 10,000 Bangladeshi IT Specialists in the world IT arena. Keeping this in mind, he has designed a scheme worth USD 10 million and has already started training a good number of meritorious but financially insolvent students under
this scheme. Regarding his personal life, Hanip mentions that in this road of successes, the contribution of his wife Ms. Farhana Hanip is equal and the couple is the proud parents of three daughters. Mrs. Hanip is not only looks after their household affairs; she is also the president of PeopleNTech and SMART Illusion. Lastly this ambitious and visionary person expresses his desire of setting up a university, where all students passing out will directly get employed in senior level positions of companies worldwide.
