RISE to the occasion
Along with a vibrant export-oriented garments industry in Bangladesh, local brands are rapidly growing into the market pioneers. Tamima Islam of COLORS catches up with Faheem Mosharraf, the CEO of
The RISE was conceived in 2014 with one thing in mind — Inspiring the young minds of Bangladesh. When incepted, it began its journey as a premium streetwear brand and targeted mostly the youth, giving “rise” to streetwear culture in the fashion industry.
“As a streetwear enthusiast myself, I thought that there’d be no better way to start the brand,” says Faheem Mosharraf, CEO of RISE. “Eventually, we incorporated many other styles into the brand but still kept streetwear at the heart of RISE.”
Besides streetwear, RISE also has uniquely-designed, ethnic, semi-formal wear for both men and women, that includes Punjabis for men and Kurtis for women. Among these, you’ll find many pieces that are a fusion of the East and the West.
What makes RISE unlike most other streetwear brands is the ethnic element it incorporates into even the most casual of clothes. You will find patriotic symbols on streetwear pieces, and streetwear designs on ethnic pieces. Representing Bangladesh to the world through fashion is a goal that RISE strives to achieve, according to the entrepreneur.
Apart from your everyday streetwear, RISE has a top-quality denim product line which consists of various styles of denim jeans.
“We use top-of-the-line denim fabrics with premium finishes and washes,” Faheem shares with Colors. “All our designs are fresh and ground-up.”
When asked about the future plans, Faheem Mosharraf emphasized the importance of growth for any fashion brand like RISE and said they want to attain and retain confidence of Bangladeshi consumers in local brands by availing the latest, top-quality clothing right at home.
With goals set to make the rise of RISE to the top, it’s no surprise how quick this brand has managed to make its presence noteworthy in the fashion arena.
