The glory of doing business responsively: Mahdin Tariq’s success story

Coming from a business family, Mahdin Tariq grew up harboring quite the typical dream of having a business of his own. During the first year of his university, he was quick on his feet to detect the growing demand for internet in the market and thus came into being his first enterprise – Gold Cable and Communications. The business sustained till date but a lot has changed following its success.

Today, Mahdin not only own this enterprise but has multiple ventures under his name, each built up slowly from scratch. From a photography boutique studio to a beauty salon with a few eateries in between, this man seems to have really cracked the code of making a business enterprises successful.

Mahdin Tariq’s Gold hunt development Limited is a family of multiple brands with goals to expand even more. Aura Beauty Salon, Dosa Express and the Secret Recipe Franchise in Bailey road are a few names under the umbrella of the brand, which shot to fame in a matter of months and together helped to weave Mahdin’s success story.

According to Mahdin the essential ingredient of success is keeping your head afloat while you explore your profit potential. He acknowledges that, “It’s important to focus on the long run rather than just settling for drastic short-run profits. In the end you’ll lose out if you place anything above serving value to your customers. Profits are bound to follow if that box is checked first.”

Choosing the right people to be with you during your “journey of self-actualization” is no less important. “The people around me have always been extremely supportive when it came to believing in me and understanding the commitment my worked demanded from me. Many times this meant that I could not give them the time that I wished to give. But they understood without me having to explain and that has truly been a wonderful boost for me throughout!”

With just the drive to make his dreams come true as his main focus, Mahdin did not have any time for distractions and he urges the young people to be focused.

“There are millions of people with millions of dreams but what really sets them apart from the ones who actually fulfill their dreams? To me, besides the obvious stroke of luck, it is sheer, incessant, stubborn dedication,” he stresses.

The visionary further went on to say that it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies, and he had his fair share of troubles too. But at any given point in his journey his drive to succeed was strong enough to overcome the hurdles.

“It’s okay if you fail several times. However, as long as you have the strength to get up and start over again even a series of failures cannot make a significant difference,” he adds.

The man of substance on an ending note shared the ethos closest to his heart and it was the simple art of staying sincere to your values while making a run for your dreams. He kept repeating that doing good some way or the other comes back to you and thus one should always ensure that he or she doesn’t compromise with values that they have believed in.

“If you stay true to what you believe in, and add to that a dash of dedication you already have the winning combo – success and profit are only secondary,” says Mahdin.

Throughout the conversation, he also stressed on the importance of keeping promises. Mahdin sums it up in short, “I kept my words no matter how much they have ended up costing me. Integrity is important and I feel like it has acted like an invisible hand moving my businesses forward. I may have paid a big price but considering the amount of trust people have put on me, it has been and will always be worth it.”

He claims to have always treated his customers as his guests, and has truly believed in offering them a memorable experience rather than just treating them as a means of transactions. With big goals for the new year, our ethical entrepreneur shares with Colors his dream to expand his restaurant business and add affordable options for the food lovers.

“As much as I am grateful for all that I have, I want to keep moving forward and making lives better by not only offering quality to customers but also giving jobs to people. If done the right way, businesses are indeed a highly effective way to help yourself and others around you and I thank my young self for having the audacity to believe in it,” says Mahdin with a detectable glint of gratefulness in his eyes.
