Stepping into Eid with Orion Footwear

We have a new season and Eid welcoming us together, giving us double the reason to stock up on new shoes. While there are hundreds of funky pairs out there catering to the mass, a small portion of minimalists sometimes have it hard finding neutral pairs to sport with multiple outfits. We have gathered a few classics that every minimalist should own which can be worn with multiple outfits, all the while remaining an in-season trend, writes Anisha Hassan.

Tawny Tones for Summer

This is one shade range we can never get enough. Being one of the most versatile colors with little substitutes, your wardrobe will be blessed with these shades.

A soft sole, skin like a top and a little dazzle at the toes, this pair can be worn with all your deshi wear. The color makes it very minimal and sleek, making it great for everyday wear, but the little bedazzle makes it just as suitable for special occasions too.

A darker take on the tawny, this pair has a more rough and edgy look with its studs all over and sharp cuts. The color looks absolutely great against denim, be it pants or a skirt. When wearing with traditional, fitted salwars complement these sandals to enhance the edgy look.

These brown hues are just as versatile for men as they are for women. This pair is more informal and will look good with just about any casual outfit you want to go for. Be it a pair of washed out jeans or cream chinos, this pair will not let you down.

Letting your feet breathe

In the heat of the summer we all want our feet to feel the air when walking, and what does that better than comfy sandals. A brand new pair will serve you well when you head out on Eid for the morning prayers in your new panajbi. After Eid uses these pairs as everyday wear with your casuals because not only are they easy to slip on and off, they are comfortable to wear as well.

What makes these sandals different are the geometric cuts in the bottom, as opposed to your regular smooth ends. Although the change is not dramatic, it is the minute details that bring about the biggest impacts.

When you want your feet covered, but still want it to be breathable, this is the option for you. Another great pair that goes well with Panjabis, this casual yet sophisticated pair will help out in Eid and the whole of the summer afterward.

Classic Ivory

Eid or not, everyone needs a pair of classic ivory sandals that they can wear with pretty much any outfit with a touch of white. It is a nice way of tying the whole look together when your sandals match a part of your dress and let us be honest, who doesn’t own white outfits?

This beautiful ivory pair comes with snakeskin details when you take a closer look like a nice gold topper, all of which add dimension to the stark white underneath. From skirts to jeans to kameez, this will complement any and every outfit that has a little bit of white going on.

Double Take on the Utility Sandals

When we say utility sandals we mostly get the impression of heavy duty black sandals, covered up with buckles and what not. However, the utility portion of it can be taken out and made into a much more stylish piece that will give you the comfort and looks in one single piece.

Pairs like these go perfect with pants. They are not too bulky, but just right enough to provide comfort, and the belts make it super easy to walk. The colors are also neutral enough to be worn with different ensembles. When you know you have a long day ahead of you, this is the pair you should be reaching out to in the morning.

Its all about that shape.

One can tell a lot about a man by his shoes, which makes it so important that you get the shapes right.
Pointed shoes should be saved for formal events when you want to look your best. A total point simply ends up looking funny, not to mention uncomfortable so avoid those. Instead of lean towards ones that have a sharp curvature and ends in a slight point.

When looking for shoes for a semi-casual outing, opt for rounded edges that are not too overwhelming. These give a prim and proper look without being too “in-your-face”. Perfect for dinner dates, movie nights or a casual day out.

You can always choose between a glossy finish or a matte one based on what you are wearing. If ultra-polished is what you are going for, surely head for the glossy one, on a more casual basis, a matte will do just fine.

Safe Heels

Whenever we look at shoes for an occasion, most turn to the ones with the highest heels. But a minimalist would know that these super high heels are hardly worn more than a few times, but are kept in storage for the rest of the year. Shorter, but more practical sandals are what we look for, so we can get full use out of them and sport them all year round.

A classic black kitten heel is a must-have for every girl for it can be worn with a wide range of outfits. From formals to sarees, to even a pair of ripped jeans, this pair can be worn with pretty much anything. Most suitable for nightwear, an exquisite black pair as such should be on your list if you don’t have one already.

Block heels are all the rage nowadays, and even though we see so many varieties of it, this shape is one that has always been here which makes it a staple. Lying on the more casual side, this pair is sturdy with its thick heel and ankle strap.

One thing we have learned over the years is that shoes are an investment, and for a minimalist all the more so. So before jumping on a pair, take a moment to see all the different ways it will serve you, and only then make the pair yours.
