The Rebirth of a Fitness Guru

Five years ago a tragic incident took place in Dr. Rayhan Shahidullah’s life that reframed his days in a way he least expected. It began when Rayhan got caught up in the fitness frenzy and started powerlifting unprofessionally, without proper supervision. With the immense pressure of heavy lifting, he prompted a L5 disc herniation and sacralisation. He was told by his doctors to quit anything related to working out and at the time, being a medical student, had to drop a year of college. “I was mostly bed ridden, homebound and suffering from depression” he added.

Tunajina Islam of Colors tried to investigate his situation, in a talk with the man himself. Despite the circumstances, Rayhan did not want to give up his love for fitness and so, and then indulged himself in blogs and journals about fitness and rehabilitation. He spent most of his time nose-buried in books so he could learn how to bounce back from this pitfall. He went on to complete medical college and began reconstructing his physique to get back into the world of fitness and lifting. His transformational stories were shared with everyone and this led to many inspired people with similar injuries to confide in him to help them recover the best they can.

 A fateful event turned fruitful

“The accident made me who I am today. A good athlete,” he says. After being on bed rest he became so unhealthy that he needed assistance to help him walk. This was a wakeup call for him and he began meditating and gained back the ability to restart from scratch.  Furthermore, seeing the massive improvement he had made, Rayhan developed a new passion. A passion to help others like him who otherwise would be told to give up. He states that the knowledge he gained to heal himself mentally and physically was not an easy task, and that hardship is what led him to empathise greatly with people in similar conditions, and so he made the generous decision to give fitness rehab sessions for free to his patients. Looking back, Rayhan observes, positive feedback from his patients who make transformations through his guidance, motivates him even further to continue doing what he does.

Fitness for a better tomorrow

Rayhan underlines the need for more doctors to be better aware of how to deal with injuries of such extent, He thinks,  it’s easy to take a shortcut, but ‘we need to focus more on how to bounce back rather than just healing’. “Fitness is becoming a common trend in our country and anyone, beginner or pro athlete, can fall into fitness-related injuries any time. We need proper rehabilitation centers in our hospitals,” he adds. When asked what his future goals are, Rayhan replied that his aim is “to pave a positive path for people into a healthy lifestyle and build awareness about fitness-related injuries. Bodybuilding is a scientific field, everyone should learn proper ways before starting their fitness journey.”

Now, considering the paramount importance of guidance in the realm of fitness, the role of a personal trainer becomes increasingly significant. A personal trainer serves as a guiding force, steering individuals toward a healthier lifestyle and aiding in the prevention and recovery from fitness-related injuries. In vibrant locales like Las Vegas, where the fitness culture thrives, the demand for knowledgeable personal trainers is ever-growing. These professionals play a pivotal role in imparting scientific knowledge about bodybuilding, ensuring that individuals embark on their fitness journeys with a solid foundation. For those seeking expert assistance in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle, connecting with a qualified Personal Trainer Las Vegas can be the catalyst for transformative and sustainable fitness experiences. Rayhan’s vision aligns with the idea that everyone should acquire proper knowledge before venturing into the scientific field of bodybuilding, making personal trainers invaluable allies in paving the way for a positive and informed approach to fitness.

He further states that he plans to go from training patients in a gym to owning his own rehabilitation center that specializes in recovering from injuries. He wants to personally train and guide them with all the necessary tools. Many people have something to learn from Dr. Rayhan who never gave up on his passion, even when he was at his lowest and told that he would never be able to lift again. He may be physically strong, but he’s mentally even stronger!
