The most prestigious of all tennis tournaments, Wimbledon as it is widely known as will be held from 27th June to 10th July this year All England Club in Wimbledon, London. The 130th championship will be the thing to watch for this summer as all the glorious players of the game will come to court to clinch the title and make it their own. This year’s total championship prizes will
be 28.1 million pound a 5% increase from the previous year including 2 million each for singles champions. For the first time, wheelchair singles will be held both in men and women category at Wimbledon. The eight draw singles will start on 7 July. This year Chairman’s special guests will be Manolo Santana, John Mcenroe and Michael Stitch. Novak Djokovic is the current champion in the men’s singles and Serena Williams is the champion in women’s singles. Roger Federer has won it 7 times alongside Pete Sampras and William Renshaw whereas Martina Navratilova is the undisputed leader in women singles winning it 9 times.
