The “light” afternoon:
Face: Like usual, start by moisturizing, priming and prepping your face to battle with the sun. For medium coverage opt for a lightweight foundation. Recently, Lakme added a 9-5 mousse foundation in their collection and it’s amazing! Besides, Lakme is basically made for Asian skin so I think it goes perfectly with the Bangladesh weather. You could also use a compact powder for a similar coverage. Dampen the sponge provided or your beauty blender (the latter would be my preference) and voila! For this look use concealers sparingly and only where it is necessary.
Eyes: What is an Eid look without a beautiful, winged eyeliner? The classical cat eye is now ditched and revamped with a slimmer line and outward flick. Use a waterproof eyeliner though to make sure it doesn’t crease. For the lower rim you can either use a nude eye pencil or a very thin layer of black kohl just on the waterline. Apply silvery white eye shadow or jumbo pencils on the inner corners to make your eyes look brighter and well rested. Colored eyeliners are in vogue right now, and can be gleefully matched with one’s outfits. You could also keep it classic using a tan colored eye shadow across the lid and smear darker shades across the upper lash line extending outwards. Lashes are voluminous and dramatic and you can never go wrong with a good pair of full lashes and a thick coat of mascara!
Cheeks: For the afternoon, cheeks look best when romanced with flushes of pink and peaches. For a more dramatic effect, you could highlight your cheekbone with cinnamon shade bronzers with a touch of highlighting powder right above your cheekbone to add a little sheen.
Lips: Now days even nude lippes offer tons of shade for different undertones. Pale, powdery pink, soft peach and rose shades look oh-so pretty during summer. Shades like MAC’s Mehr, Twig, Velvet Teddy even Crème in your Coffee are of apt for this look. Don’t want to spend so much money? Look for dupes or similar shades in Wet and Wild, Colorpop, Nyx or Sleek!
Hair: Tease your hair to create a little lift and go for a loose bun. Divide the front bangs and place them lightly on one side. If it gets wavy you could blow dry or straighten them. If you think you don’t want the heat to meddle with your hair at all, you could create a low bun on the opposite side of your bangs and secure it lightly with bobby clips or pins. A nice-scented hairspray would also work best to keep your bun in place as the air around you would smell beautiful.
