700 plus feared dead in 2016 Mediterranean crossings

The worst occurred in 2015 when a full boat carrying 800 passengers capsized in the middle of the Mediterranean. The fatality has not been able to affect the crossovers as most migrants disregard the risk. Mostly Eritreans are making the risky journey with the hope of a better life in Europe. The crossings have become a concerning issue for humanitarian organizations worldwide, as every month a massive amount of population are dying while trying to make the crossover and those who survive become too traumatized enduring the journey.
