GD Assist evacuates COVID-19 infected Indian National to New Delhi

GD Assist, a subsidiary of Green Delta Insurance Company, evacuated an Indian national from Chattogram to New Delhi, India yesterday (April 10, 2021), who was admitted in a local hospital in Chattogram and was in very critical condition as he has been suffering from breathing difficulties due to COVID-19 since April 1, 2021. 

As part of emergency medical evacuation procedure, GD Assist carried out every single task step by step with utmost caution, starting from assessing patient’s fitness for flight condition and discharge to managing ground ambulance and tarmac clearance, corresponding with the foreign insurance company from time to time etc. 

The task at hand was critical in many aspects such as critical condition of the patient, COVID-19 infection, lockdown scenario, challenge in coordination between the stakeholders from different countries and a few more, but GD Assist came to the rescue and managed to transfer this patient to his homeland with all the medical support despite all the challenges. Upon Arrival at New Delhi, India, the patient was transferred to BLK Hospital, where he is currently admitted and receiving treatment.

During the beginning of the pandemic in Bangladesh since 2020, GD Assist has successfully carried out evacuations to 3 Continents, 6 Destinations and served 600+ people in the process, who were stranded home and abroad due to the global lockdown situation caused by COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, GD Assist stays true to its mission and is continuing the emergency medical evacuation of critical patients within home and abroad.
