5 steps to Korean Skincare

Korean skincare products have recently raised a storm in the world of beauty that is yet to settle down. Why the sudden hype you might wonder. Well there really are only two answers to that. Firstly because we ladies would literally go to the end of the world and back to get that flawless, glowing and soft as a baby bum skin. Secondly, the K-Wave e.g. the influence of Korean culture has effected Bangladesh so drastically that even their strict skincare practice is now being adapted by most. And why not! It does deliver its fair and lovely promises after all.

With countless options, methods and routines, Korean skincare is a realm of its own. The obvious question thus surge to the fore, “where to start?” Here is a guideline to the basic K-skincare routine.

Begin with cleanser

A clear face demands a good cleanser. In the morning, your skin is most vulnerable. So start your morning with a gentle wash that won’t strip off the oils and dirt too harshly. The “Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser” is mild with its foamy consistency and maintains skin’s ph balance after wash as well. Remember not to rub but pat your face dry after use.

Time for Toner

A toner helps your skin turn into the prepped canvas to begin a fresh artwork. After all, we must treat our face as nothing but art! Toner lightly moisturizes while readying your skin for deep absorption of products you’re about to apply next. Wet a cotton pad with some liquid and then swipe your face gently with it. It also helps with even skin tone and texture. We recommend “Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner” as the go to toner for beginners.

Onto Serum

Serum serves different purposes according to its ingredients. Koreans are very meticulous when it comes to ageing. You might mistake a 50 year old lady for 30 even! The trick to that is to of course a healthier lifestyle and then anti-aging serums. It is recommended that you start using the serums before you hit 30, so that the process can be delayedbefore it’s begun. The “Red serum” or the “I AM FROM Ginseng Serum”are widely approved for their miracle.

Acne and pimples are another dimension of horror. Extracts of Centella and Tea tree are best known for their calming and purifying ingredients. Therefore Cosrxcentella blemish, “LJH Tea Tree 90 Essence”are the ones we’d suggest for acne problems

For that heavenly glorious glow and brightening (not the fair and lovely one, we pinky swear!) “Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop” or “LJH Vita Propolis Cream/Ampule” are definitely the answer to all your prayers. However, applying sunscreen immediately after using any Vitamin C product is a must. Or else, instead of brightening, you might experience burning on your skin. Three to four drops of any serum is usually the appropriate amount for your face.

Must have Moisturizer

Never leave your face dry, that’s the first rule of moisturizing. After toner and serum, it’s best to apply a moisturizer to lock it all in. The moisturizer helps you to get a supple, hydrated and oil balanced skin tone. “KlairsRich Moist Soothing Cream”, “Wishtrend Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream” and “Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Gel” are lightweight, fast absorbing moisturizers that won’t clog your pores yet keep you hydrated for long hours.

Safer with Sunscreen

The most necessary and last step before you put on your makeup. A sunscreen will protect you from the harmful UV rays of sunlight. Most of us tend to avoid sunscreen due to the white cast they leave on our face. Whereas, some Korean sunscreens blends so finely with your skin, it feels as you’ve put on a blur effect. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before stepping out and remember to retouch it after 3 hours, for best result. Try to pick a sunblock that blocks both UV A and UV B rays.Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion, Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk, COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream, LEI LANI Block SPF 50+ are few suggestions from us.

Naturally you’ll be wondering now where to get these products. Korean-Cosmetics Bangladesh (https://www.facebook.com/koreancosmeticsbd/ ) or KosmeticaBangladesh (https://www.facebook.com/kosmeticabd/) is the place to go for authentic products. ButIf you are in New York, then have a look at Soko Glam (https://sokoglam.com/) or Glow Recipe (https://www.glowrecipe.com/). One last advice from us would be that, don’t force anything that doesn’t suit your skin. What has worked for others might not necessarily fit you, because at the end of the day we all have different skins.
