BEAUTY TRENDS WITH Farzana Shakil

As Eid-ul-Ajha approaches, so does the need to update our makeup and hair game. And what better way to do that with some tips from an expert. Beauty guru Farzana Shakil shared her insights on the current beauty trends from an Eid perspective with Maliha Islam

When asked about makeup trends for this Eid, Farzana Shakil responded that girls are leaning towards “more light, natural and dewy looks” these days. Depending on your skin tone, you can opt for a cool mauve, neutral peach or warm nude shades. And the major rule of getting a perfectly dewy look is – hydration. Make sure you’re drinking enough water and keeping your skin moisturized all the times.
No matter if the weather is raining or sunny, moisturizing is the one routine you must never skip. Go for softer blushes that add glow to your face. Instead of highlighting, try strobing. Strobing will give you a full-face ethereal glow that will help create a dewy look. Keep the brows minimal. Foundations are not mandatory when you are going for a natural look. Perhaps a little BB cream or just concealer to even the skin tone, nothing too heavy.
Lastly, nude glosses on lips could help you round it off for you. Not the shimmery ones that our aunties used to wear of course, but the intense pigmented ones.
It would be fair to say that the weather has not been kind to us. Let’s admit, we don’t spend all the precious effort in blending and perfectly setting the hair or donning thehijab to have them go down the drain with rain. On a positive note, at least it won’t be ruined by sweat. Our guru suggests using waterproof mascara, liner and cream products rather than powder.
We often tend to keep putting off the haircut till the last moment before Eid. As a result, fewer thoughts are put behind it and more often than not, it is a rush job. To prepare better for this battle, here are some shortlisted cuts that are trending this Eid: short bob, front fringe and volume. The short bob and front fringe attempt to catch up with the Asian trends, while the good old volume makes a comeback this time. However, don’t limit yourself or your creativity within these styles only. After all, fashion is what you wear!
